An evening of Pilates with yours truly & yoga with Kristen Embrey of Mind Over Mat. Join us as we take space to remember that home can be found from within our body. For those who will be both near & far from their homes & loved ones during this holiday season, and are seeking connection & comfort. Stay after for df/gf cookies & community.
This idea originally came to us as we were reflecting how busy & difficult the holidays can feel for us. Both working in retail for years, and not always able to spend it with our families or find any rest. We got thinking about all the other folks who work in retail or the service industry, or those who can't be with their communities this year for any other reason.
Hop into your coziest clothes and join us for for 30 minutes of tapping into your breath & deep core in a Pilates flow using light weights with Annie. We will learn how to use our transversus abdominis & pelvic floor, strengthen all the deep muscles, and to not brace & build pressure through simple breathing. And how to adjust your joints & spine to relieve pain & tension, and embody your most beautiful posture. You’ll leave with a greater understanding of how your body works & how to recruit the right muscles.
After, enjoy 30 minutes of soft embodiment movement as we take an internal gaze and allow ourselves to explore what true presence feels like with Kristen. This gentle yoga flow will be for all levels, and we will co-create a safe space to comfortably celebrate each of our own unique bodies amidst the warm glow of the candlelight. During this holiday season, let your body feel like home again.
Come early or stay after to enjoy cookies & community.
