When I first discovered group fitness classes in 2010 - yoga, pilates, spin, boot camps. It was life changing, sensational, addicting. But this group class approach ended up hurting me..
I didn’t know how to decipher sensations in my body to understand what was stretch vs over stretch or when I was unknowingly throwing my back out or flaring up old sports injuries. I was never taught that my body needed something different than the student next to me, regardless of if I was capable of “doing” everything or not. I craved deeper connection & understanding.
Then when I became a group yoga & Pilates instructor, I saw how difficult it was to offer high quality education & meaning during a big group class.
All of this led me to create my one-on-one program to provide you with personalized knowledge, cues & exercises. You also get the mindset & self development work that is ever present as we move our bodies. If I do my job correctly, you won’t need me forever.

Hi, I’m Annie. Movement is the answer in my world.
The work that I do is embodiment work, coming fully into our bodies, through Pilates and Yoga. I truly believe that a better connection to your glutes or your breath or your injury, leads to more purpose & happiness. By nature, Pilates & Yoga are embodiment methods! In this program we add a little bit of mindfulness ✨spice✨ to engage with it in a more holistic & meaningful way.
This work isn’t about bullying ourselves into a “perfect” body or life, this is about creating consistent & sustainable changes on a daily basis so you can learn how to choose yourself first, every day, as service to ourselves and others.

What is Pilates?
Pilates is an all inclusive methodology that incorporates a whole body approach. Principles include centering, control, concentration, precision, flow, Breathing Principle, Pelvic Placement, Rib Cage Placement, Shoulder Stability & Mobility, and Head-Neck Placement.
In lessons 1 & 2 you will be introduced to the principles of Pilates. In lessons 3+, you will gain experience applying these principles on the mat in your custom progression program, and off the mat in overall postural wellness & life! When you are not in session with me, you have access to my posture clinics & classes so you can revisit these principles at anytime.

Yoga is present in every session that we have through physical asanas, mindfulness, and breath work. Depending on your unique needs, we will create a balance of Pilates & Yoga.
Shift your relationship to your Pain & Prevent Injury.
This content is woven through every session we have & is all about understanding how your mindset impacts your pain, injury & over all, how you feel in life. Whether you have remembrance of an injury or not, 20% of adults suffer from chronic pain, most common in the spine & head. Based on your unique needs, you will learn research based visualization & breath work techniques to shift your relationship to your pain so that you can better manage it and not let it control your livelihood. The result is moving with flow & ease, and not missing out on life’s experiences. I believe there may be one single cue that has the potential to unlock your body or injury, and I am skilled at postural analysis & reading bodies.
Live an Embodied Life.
I will teach you my trauma-informed approach in how to sense & interpret the sensations of your body during movement, stillness, both in session & out of session. I believe that we each have a deep knowing inside of us that needs our attention. Call it your gut, your intuition, your inner voice, whatever it is, it’s time to listen in because it is speaking to us. Embodiment builds awareness & presence, self regulation, self love & empowerment. Through meditation, awareness, & movement we learn to notice which sensations are at the forefront of our consciousness. I will also teach you the anatomy of your body & movement so you can better understand how it all works together.
Build an Energy Clearing Practice.
This is the most important content in the program and relates directly to living an embodied life. Every single person, thing, thought, & place has its own frequency & experience. I will help you understand energy, how to notice, clear & protect it. We begin by learning what our own energy feels like, and the difference between self care & self worth. Then, we create an energy clearing practice that sets clear intentions, builds sustainable rituals, and holds ourselves accountable day in day out to our self and own energy. This practice teaches you that you are worthy of whatever it is that you want, and you can have it, and by protecting & clearing your energy, you are embodying your worthiness. We become aware of what limiting beliefs are present, and how to shift the stories attached. I will also help you understand the energy around you that you most often interact with - energy of friends, family, places, things, technology - and how & when to set boundaries.
Vision, Goals, & Values Work.
I will teach you how to use your new understanding of your energy & self worth to create your embodied vision, goals & values. Then through the lens of your new vision, goals, & values, you are filled with confidence, decision & clarity. You are aligned with your deepest You. You will learn that you no longer force, push and bully yourself into what you want or need, you learn to be kind to yourself, while also holding yourself accountable. You will also receive worksheets & resources through your self development hub to revisit at anytime.

What can I expect in our consultation call and our first session?
In our connect call, we will get clear on where you are at and where you want to be, and I will share how I can get you there and in what time line. We will connect on your intake form & complete a goals assessment. You can get a preview of me & my style.
This is not a high pressure sales call, this is a time to connect to learn more! Whether we end up choosing to work together or not, you’ll leave with clarity & tips you can implement right away.
In our first & second sessions, we will do a full movement & posture assessment and I will teach you the fundamentals of Pilates.
What happens after my 10 or 20 sessions?
Once you complete your program with me, you will have the option of continuing through single sessions or a class package.
How do I know how many sessions I need?
After our first call, I will be more clear on where you are at and where you want to be. I have worked with clients who created big results within just 5 sessions, and some who needed more time to absorb & apply the new information and this is why I give you options. Each program & progression is unique to you. For clients with chronic pain & any injury, you typically need more sessions.
Will I need any props for our sessions?
Yes (for virtual)! Props help us to create Pilates equipment at home (like a reformer!) & provides you with endless variations. Please plan to get the following props: a mat, yoga block(s), 1-3 lb weights, resistance band and Pilates ball. I can provide you with links to each of these.
What is a progression program?
Pilates is a set sequence of exercises, and this sequence is layered with modifications, variations, equiptment & levels. Pilates moves from essential to intermediate to advanced, and the tiered sequence is set up in a way that allows us to keep going & building, instead of simply getting to the end of the sequence and being capped at what you can learn. Each session will be different, as we learn and build, but you will also become familiar with the flow & recognize the order It is my job to help you achieve your goals, and I do this through progressing you from exercise to exercise, level to level. I use the Pilates method to personalize what you need for your unique body, you may be advanced in your leg work, yet still need time in working on essential spinal extension. I’m less focused about what level you are at, and I ensure that I dont force this. I care more about how you feel week over week. I build your program after a posture analysis & movement assessment in session 1 & 2.
I have chronic pain or a limiting injury. Can you help me?
Yes. I have experience working with various injuries & abilities such as full hip & knee replacements, rotator cuff tears, bursitis, TBI, vertigo, childhood trauma injuries, bulging disk and chronic postural pain. There is always 2-way communication during sessions so we can work together and ensure you feel safe.
How will this support or fit into my current routine?
Whether you have goals to build a consistent yoga or Pilates practice, lifting PRs in the gym, compete in a race, or simply just play with your kids or grandkids, this work will 100% support & enhance your whole life! I can’t wait to see how good you feel.
How does scheduling work?
I have set availability M-Th. We can book the same time, same day week over week, or you can choose different times each week. You will be responsible for booking all of your own sessions & can do so through my schedule tab. Consistency is key in our work together so my ask is that we work weekly or biweekly.
